Welcome!!!

Hi and welcome to my website.  To tell you a little about me, I have been teaching 1st grade since 2000.  I am married and have a son and dog.  My favorite baseball team is the San Francisco Giants! I look forward to a wonder school year and I'm excited to teach you lots of great information.  Have a great time and enjoy 1st grade! 

Sight Words

First grade sight words are very important! Attached to the left are 192 sight words. Of those 192 sight word, only 120 must be known.  Of course you can always learn more than the 120 words.  I would even encourage you to do so if you can. Practice sight words on a regular basis.

Homework

I do not give homework to students.  What I do encourage is that students practice reading for 20 minutes each day.  They will keep track of their daily reading by logging it on their reading log located in the front of their maroon folder.  Please make this an important part of your child's daily routine.

Items Needed Throughout The Year

We are always in need of the following items:

* Hand Sanitizer- Gallon sizes and 70% alcohol

* Ziploc Bags- snack, sandwich, quart freezer, gallon freezer

* Table Wipes: Clorox or Lysol
