Mrs. Grieb is your child's homeroom, ELA, and Science teacher. Mrs. Tiner is your child's Math and Social Studies teacher.

Dress Code

Sundale is strictly enforcing the student dress code to maintain a respectful, focused learning environment. Dressing appropriately shows self-respect and a serious attitude toward school. Dress code rules will be checked daily, and consequences for not following dress code will be strictly enforced by administration. Detailed guidelines and pictures of acceptable clothing are posted in the office. Parents must make sure their child is dressed correctly before school, and you are welcome to call the front office with any questions. The full dress code policy can be found in the student handbook.

Cell phones and Smartwatches

SEE IT - TAKE IT approach will be implemented. (Parents will be called to pick up from the office.)

Gum

NOT allowed on campus. Consequences will be enforced by teacher and/or administration.

"Toys"

Please help me by making sure your child does not bring any items from home to school. These include but are not limited to: fidget toys (unless approved through educational plan), trading cards, sharpies, bouncy balls, arts & crafts, toy cars, squishy toys, laser pointers, gaming devices, collectibles, etc. If student brings sports equipment to play with at recess, this is fine. I encourage you to write your child's first and last name with black permanent sharpie on the sports equipment. Please note that Sundale will not be held responsible for your child's missing equipment.

Late to next class / ditching

Students have a THREE-MINUTE passing period. This is sufficient to arrive to their next class. Arriving late to a class will result in being sent to the office for a tardy slip. No exceptions. Ditching a class will result in immediate consequences. No exceptions.

Homework

  • Reading - Read AR book for 20 minutes daily.
  • Student Planners - Parent Signature is due once weekly by Friday. This lets me know you are aware of the assignments for the week.
  • Progress Reports - Sent home bi-weekly for Parent Signature.

No other homework will be given. Students will always be given enough time in class to complete their required classwork as well as time to study for tests. It is the students' responsibility to take advantage of class time.

Sundale is Family

About Mrs. Grieb

Hello! My name is Mrs. Brittany Grieb, and I am proud to call Sundale my home.

I grew up in Tulare and attended Sundale School from Kindergarten through 8th grade, graduating in 2004. During my years here, I was involved in lip-sync, poetry and prose, drama, T.A, cheerleading, sports, A.G., Winter Guard, and band where I played the flute and had the honor of serving as Drum Major during my 8th grade year. Some of the teachers who inspired me as a student and are still part of the Sundale family today are: Mrs. Machado (1st grade teacher), Ms. Faria (5th grade teacher), Mr. Gist (6th grade teacher), and Mr. Garcia (7th grade teacher).

After graduating from Sundale, I graduated from Central Valley Christian High School in 2008. I served on the IMPACT class, played the following sports: Water Polo, Cross-Country, Basketball, and Swimming. I was also involved in Drama and Color guard.  I then spent two years at Merced Community College, where I completed my general education coursework while competing in the Water Polo and Swim teams. My love for swimming later led me to coach Girls Swimming at Redwood High School.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies (K–8) and my California Teaching Credential through Western Governors University. I then continued my education and earned a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction.

My teaching journey at Sundale began in 2013 when I worked as a Teacher Aide for four years. I also completed my student teaching here in 2017. In 2018, I was blessed to begin my teaching career as a 1st grade teacher at Sundale, where I taught for five years. I then moved to middle school and am excited to begin my fourth year teaching 7th and 8th grade students.

This year, I will be teaching:
• 7th Grade ELA
• 7th Grade Science
• 8th Grade ELA
• 8th Grade Science
• 7th Grade ASL
• 7th & 8th Grade P.E.

My husband, Justin, and I got married in 2014 and live in Exeter with our three amazing children: Brian, Cole, and Everly. Brian is in 4th grade, Cole is in 2nd grade, and Everly is in Kindergarten. I love that I get to watch them learn and grow here at Sundale each day. As a family, we enjoy watching our boys play basketball and baseball. Our daughter dances ballet and tap. Together we enjoy family vacations, country living, and serving alongside our church family at Tulare Community Church.

Sundale has always been much more than a school to me—it is family, it is home, and it has helped shape who I am today. I truly love what I do, and I feel incredibly blessed to teach and serve in the community that helped raise me.

I am looking forward to another wonderful school year with your child. It's going to be a great year!
