Science

How science works.

1.  Centerwork--will be given out on Monday or Wednesday, depending on how much other stuff is going on.  It is always due on Friday.

2.  Tests will be on Fridays.  If it is a Chapter test, more than 1 section, then outlines can be used on the test.  If it is a section test (this is only 1 section of 4-5 of the chapter) then outlines can not be used.  Students will need to study for these tests.

*******Fridays are the turn in days and there is alot to do.

Math Homework

We will usually finish all work in class.  There will be periodic homework .  Open up resources.com is where most work will come from.  Sometimes it will be work directly from the website and other times it will be printed and handed to the students.

Attitude Poem

Attitude

“The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.  Attitude, to me, is more important than facts.  It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do.  It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill.  It will make or break a company…a [school]…a home.  The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day.  We cannot change our past…we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way.  We cannot change the inevitable.  The only thing we can do is play on the one thing we have, and that is our attitude…

I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it.  By Charles Swindoll

Elective syllabus

PE Syllabus

Mr. Gist

Objective: To improve the physical condition of the students in class through sports and games with a positive environment

Expectations:  To be prepared for class and to participate in the activities of the class.

Each student is required to dress for PE in clothes that will allow them to properly participate in the activity that the class is doing for that day.

Proper dress attire is: shorts or gym sweats, t-shirt, closed toed shoes (no sandals).  There will be a room for the boys and one for the girls to dress out in.

Participation is based off of effort not ability.  Students must “try” to do their best at each activity.

Grading:  Grades are a daily 2 point system.  One for proper dress attire and one for participation.

Students who do not have the proper dress attire but participate daily will only receive a grade of 50% and students who dress daily but do not participate will also receive a grade of 50%.  Students who do both will get a 100% grade.
