Homework News
At this time, students are generally assigned 30 minutes of independent reading, and either multiplication or division facts each night as their homework. If students are on the Multiplication Superstar or Division Superstar board for the week, they are not assigned the facts practice that corresponds to their Superstar status.
Other activities that would be helpful each night would include:
- extra multiplication and division facts practice
- typing/keyboarding practice
Multiplication and Division Facts
Being fluent in multiplication and division facts will play a major role in student success in fourth grade math. So many of our math concepts build on those multiplication and division facts! I strongly encourage students to practice both at home in addition to the assigned facts practice for homework. Students made multiplication and division toolkit cards to help them practice. I like these cards because it helps them see the relationship between multiplication and division, and they can also use them independently.
Here is the link for a great facts practice game that we use in our classroom. I highly encourage students to use it! https://www.mathschase.com/

4th Grade Field Trip
- Stay tuned for more information about this year's field trip.
- We will need many parent volunteers to work at our fundraiser, Santa's Secret Shop, in December. This event helps fund our trip! Please let me know if you are interested in heading up this fundraiser. We will be sending home notes a bit later asking for volunteers.
