Important Information & Reminders:
*Please inform me if there’s anything that I should be aware of concerning your child (health issues, food allergies, etc.).
*Parent-Teacher Communication: The best way to get into contact with me is to use our Class Dojo app or email me. I will try to respond back as soon as possible. ***If there is an important message that you need to give to your child, please call the school office rather than text or email me. I may not see the message in time.
*Parents must check in at the office before entering the classroom. If there’s something that you need to give to your child, please give it to the office and they will call me. This helps to decrease the amount of distractions and interruptions.
*Be sure to contact the office if your child is absent.
*School Supplies: (This is NOT mandatory but highly recommended.)
-Backpack
-I will provide everything else that your child will need for class; including pencils, erasers, crayons, glue sticks, scissors, and pencil boxes. Students have a limited amount of space in their desks. Any extra items they want to bring to school will need to be stored in their backpacks.
*Homework and Classwork: At this time, I will not be assigning any homework (please be aware that this could change). However, if a student did not complete their classwork OR they need extra practice with their math/reading skills, then they may be asked to do some work at home and return it back to school. Also, I strongly recommend students to read a minimum of 20 minutes, each night, to help with their reading practice and comprehension.
*Student Snacks and Water bottles:
Students may bring a small healthy snack for their 10 o’clock break. Please keep in mind that we eat lunch early, and oftentimes they are not hungry for lunch if their snack is too big. Try to avoid having them bring high sugary snacks, which often makes them feel tired and sluggish in the afternoons. Students may also bring their own water bottles to class. All other drinks will not be allowed in the classroom.
**If parents wish to donate snacks for the whole class, feel free! If possible, please have the snacks individually wrapped, and no high sugar snacks. Fresh fruit is a great option as well.
Classroom Donations: Parents often ask what we need or would like for our classroom so I’ve signed up for a classroom wishlist through Amazon. There are a few fun items that I’ve picked out for the class. I’ve provided the link down below, but I will also send a link to our Remind group. If you wish to help out, great! Donations are NOT mandatory.

**Additional items: sanitizing wipes and new/used pencils
*Classroom Rules and Discipline:
1. Show respect and kindness to everyone
2. Listen and follow teacher’s instructions
3. Raise your hand quietly and wait to be called on
4. Try your best, and be ready to learn!!
** In the unfortunate event that a problem should arise, I mostly deal with the behavior issue in the classroom. However, if the student’s behavior appears to be continuing then I will contact parents. The student may be asked to owe their free time or some other consequence, as well as, contacting the office; it all depends on the situation. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
