4 Lexia Power Up units per day

Writing: Journal Writing (Expository, Argumentative, Narrative), Daily Lessons: Expository

ELA (Studysync): Freak the Mighty, The Giver, The Outsiders

Spelling: Each unit is 2 weeks long / Tests at the end of the 2 weeks

Accelerated Reader goals per trimester

Core Lit / Novels: Freak the Mighty, The Giver, The Outsiders

Social Studies: The Middle Ages: 476 CE-1500CE, Renaissance and Reformation: 14th century CE-17th century CE

8th Grade:

ELA (Studysync): Suspense!

Accelerated Reader goals per trimester

Core Lit / Novels: My Brother Sam is Dead, The Cage

Social Studies: American Revolution, The Constitution / Citizenship, The Holocaust, The Civil War

HOMEWORK:

Daily Homework:

  • Read 15 minutes (most days done in class)
  • Finish classwork (although, enough time in class is always given)

Weekly Homework:

  • Parent Signature on planner 

Bi-weekly Homework:

  • Parent Signature on Progress Report

5th Period - 7th grade Career Class (ASL):

  • Alphabet
  • Fingerspelling
  • Numbers 0-10
  • 100 ASL signs
  • "Happy Birthday" song
  • The Pledge of Allegiance
  • The National Anthem
  • America The Beautiful
  • God Bless America

7th Period - 7th & 8th grade P.E

  • 3 points given per day
    • Behavior
    • Participation
    • Dressing Out
  • Dressing Out - students get 7 minutes to change into P.E clothes in the changing rooms (no long jean pants, no dresses/skirts, no sandals, no boots)
  • Mondays - Timed mile
  • Tuesdays-Thursdays - Team Games / Team Sport
  • Fridays - Sports Choice!
